Qur’anic readings and the importance of studying them

Abstract

The Holy Qur’an is of great importance, and it is given special attention among Muslims, as it is a book preserved by the Lord of the Worlds, eternal until the Day of Judgment, so it is a book for all people of great importance. Muslims have taken great care of the Holy Qur’an, reciting, memorizing, learning, teaching, drawing and guiding. Qur’anic recitations have a great aspect of care and attention. God Almighty has taken care of preserving it, and is still reciting the Qur’an as it was revealed to Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and it will remain until the Day of Judgment with the support of its reception. I wanted to address an aspect of the importance of the science of Qur’anic readings, and its importance is highlighted in every science related to it. I have written books on it and scholars, readers, and jurists have used it as evidence. What awakened within me the desire to explain its importance and shed light on this aspect, so I titled it: (Qur’anic readings and the importance of studying them). Its importance can be summarized: easing the burden on the Islamic nation and facilitating the diversity of languages ​​and dialects in societies. God has distinguished the Holy Qur’an from other heavenly books by the multiplicity of its readings. It also contains a miracle from the Lord of the Worlds to demonstrate the eloquence of the Qur’an and the beauty of its brevity. Among the sciences related to it is the science of counting verses, and it is related to stopping and starting. Tracing the words of the Qur’an and explaining its meanings through its various readings will have a great reward from the Lord of the Worlds. The central question of the research topic: How important is the science of readings? As for the objectives of this research, they can be summarized as follows: introducing the reader to the science of recitations, highlighting the importance and status of the science of recitations, highlighting its connection to other sciences, and demonstrating God’s miracle in the Qur’an and explaining its eloquence.
