Abstract

Scientific research in the Arab world faces significant challenges that hinder its development, despite the availability of necessary material and human resources. This study examines the importance of scientific research as a fundamental pillar for progress and sustainable development, contributing to economic enhancement, increased productivity, and improved quality of life. The research aims to analyze the current state of scientific research in Arab countries, focusing on the main challenges it faces, such as weak funding, brain drain, and the lack of effective cooperation between Arab research institutions. The study begins with a comprehensive definition of the concept of scientific research and its pivotal role in development. It then reviews the obstacles hindering its progress, highlighting the lack of funding, an environment that supports innovation, and weak educational systems. The research concludes that achieving Arab aspirations requires increased support and spending on scientific research, improving research infrastructure, and enhancing partnerships between the public and private sectors. The study recommends focusing efforts on research that addresses local issues and encourages scientists and researchers to innovate by creating a stimulating and supportive environment. It also emphasizes the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to improve the quality of scientific research in the Arab world and make it globally competitive.
