Murder is the act of ending the life of a living being by another being. There are two types of murder: manslaughter and premeditated murder. Sharp, strong, or heavy tools, firearms, or toxic materials can be used in the murder process. Murder as an act does not necessarily require the presence of a criminal characteristic, as a manslaughter can occur, or the act of murder can be the deliberate execution of a criminal, a serial killer, or otherwise. There is another type that is not intentional. Premeditated murder is that which occurs with the intent of its perpetrator, while manslaughter is that which occurs unintentionally. In this research, we will talk about the crime of murder, whether the murder is intentional or not, explaining its impact on the individual and society, and indicating in the demands of this research the role of Sharia in reducing this phenomenon and the crimes that accompany it or lead to it, such as banditry and rebellion. We will also explain the effects of the crime of murder on the individual and society, in addition to explaining the steps taken by Islamic Sharia to criminalize murder and legislate retaliation according to the Qur’anic texts and accompanying interpretations. We ask God for success in what we have chosen.
