Permissible, Recommended, Prescriptive RulingsAbstract
: In Islamic law, the prescriptive rulings represent a set of rules that regulate the actions and behaviors of those charged according to the commands and prohibitions of the Sharia. These rulings vary between what must be done and what must be left, and between what is recommended or permitted for a person to do or leave without punishment or reward. Among these rulings are the permissible and recommended, which are part of this precise jurisprudential system. Permissible: is the action that the Sharia has left for the person charged without specifying a binding ruling, so that a person can do or leave it freely without reward or punishment. Recommended: is the action that is recommended in the Sharia to do, where a person is rewarded when doing it, but is not punished when leaving it. Understanding these two rulings helps a Muslim organize his life in accordance with what is consistent with the objectives of the Sharia and avoid what could lead to violating the Sharia.
