Abstract

The study aimed to explore the roles of digital parenting in protecting children from cyber-terrorism, identify the forms of cyber-terrorism targeting children, and propose an Islamic educational methodology to enhance effective digital parenting. The research employed a descriptive approach. Key findings revealed that digital parenting roles vary and adopt different educational methodologies, ranging from authoritarian to neglectful permissive approaches, both of which deviate from the straight path of righteousness. The balanced approach required entails providing protection and prevention through an Islamic educational methodology. The forms of cyber-terrorism targeting children are diverse, aiming to uproot them from Islamic educational foundations and redirect them toward destructive paths, often through educational programs and recreational games. A proposed framework was developed, incorporating an Islamic educational methodology based on faith-based, moral, and intellectual dimensions to strengthen the role of digital parenting in protecting children from cyber-terrorism.
