Evaluation of Scientific Research in Artificial Intelligence and Its Integration in Achieving Sustainable Development and Future Challenges - A Vision of Saudi Universities as a Model

The current research aimed to identify the level of integration between scientific research and artificial intelligence in achieving sustainable development and confronting future challenges. The study adopted a descriptive approach and targeted a research population consisting of all artificial intelligence experts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research sample included (365) participants, and a questionnaire was used as the research tool. The research reached several results, most notably that the overall average response for the first axis, integration between scientific research and artificial intelligence in achieving sustainable development, was rated as high. Similarly, the overall average response for the second axis, integration between scientific research and artificial intelligence in confronting future challenges, was also rated as high. The research made several recommendations, the most important of which include establishing legal frameworks that encourage the use of artificial intelligence in achieving sustainable development while ensuring transparency and ethics and supporting emerging companies and innovators working to develop artificial intelligence solutions that serve sustainable development goals.
