Abstract

This study summarizes the role of jurists in establishing social and economic systems, highlighting the contributions of Imam Abu Yusuf, a prominent jurist of the Abbasid state and one of the foremost scholars of his time. The research sheds light on his jurisprudential output and his relationship with Caliph Harun al-Rashid, through which he provided a range of advice and legal principles to support governance. The research problem focuses on how Abu Yusuf formulated his jurisprudential principles for the Abbasid authority and interacted with the Caliph. It aims to analyze Abu Yusuf’s role in presenting financial and social principles, such as zakat, taxation, and moral regulations on issues like adultery and theft, reflecting his reformist vision. The researcher employs inductive and deductive methods to analyze the principles set forth by Abu Yusuf and their significance. The study is divided into five sections that address his role in economics, public relations, ethics, and the management of natural resources, illustrating his contributions to policy direction and social justice during his era.
